Dr. Fauziya Ado Yakasai is a professional researcher and data scientist with over 7 years of experience in academia and industry in data science, statistics, mathematics, and research. With a wide background in both teaching and quantitative research, he is an expert in applied mathematics, statistics, business analytics, and data science.
She works as a data science consultant for CG Global Management, LLC, in the United States, and as a postdoctoral researcher at the York University in Canada. Her research focuses on data analysis in pharmaceutical R&D collaborations. She is also interested in environmental sustainability ratings, machine learning, and deep learning.
Dr. Yakasai received a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Mathematics from Bayero University in Kano, Nigeria, a Master of Science (MS) in Pure and Applied Mathematics from the African University of Science and Technology in Abuja, Nigeria, a Master of Science (MS) in Probability and Statistics from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, and a PhD in Mathematics from the same university. She got a Graduate Certificate in Business Analytics from Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama. She possesses a number of professional credentials, including Oracle database associate, Oracle database professional, machine learning using Python, SAS certifications, and others.
Dr. Yakasai worked as a graduate teaching assistant at Auburn University and as a lecturer in the mathematics department at Bayero University Kano, where she taught both undergraduate and graduate students. She worked as an IT support specialist for the Nigerian Port Authority and as an Oracle database instructor at the Nest Trust Institute of Information Technology, Kano (NIIT), where she taught IT experts from the Kano Ministry of Information Technology.
Dr. Yakasai was awarded multiple scholarships, including one from the African Development Bank (ADB) to study at the African University of Science and Technology in Abuja, another from the Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) to study at Auburn University, and a graduate assistantship from Auburn University.
Dr. Yakasai is interested in leadership as well. She was the president of the African Students Association at Auburn University. She is a member of the National Society of Leadership and Success in the United States and formerly served as treasurer of the Auburn University Graduate Student Organisation. In the United States, she is also a member of the American Mathematical Society (AMS) and the American Statistical Association (ASA). She is passionate about girl-child education and wants every girl and woman in the world to have equal access to education.
